School Crossing Patrol Officer

We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a School Crossing Patrol Officer. As a key member of our road safety team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and adults at designated crossing points.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe and efficient road crossing services for children and adults at fixed sites within the authority and related to schools.
- Ensure the safety and orderliness of children and pedestrians approaching or waiting at the crossing point and crossing the road.
- Follow instructions in line with the Code of Practice and ensure children and pedestrians cross only on the appropriate phase of Pelican or other light-controlled crossings.
- Build and maintain good relations with pupils, parents, and staff of the schools served by the patrol site and other road users.
- Report any problems or hazards or incidents to the Road Safety Officer.
- Work with a range of basic equipment to complete tasks, including checking stock to ensure that materials necessary to do the job are available and reporting any defects.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You will also need to be physically fit and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
