We are seeking a Global Therapeutic Area Leader for Immunology and Rheumatology to become a pivotal part of our Global Medical Services (GMS) team.

This role encompasses establishing strategic direction and leading a dynamic team, while also providing both medical and executive guidance internally and externally to align with Parexel's overarching goals. Responsibilities include delivering medical and scientific insights to clients and collaborating with colleagues across various departments on business development, study design, and comprehensive development strategies. Building, implementing, and presenting tailored cross-functional solutions for drug development in Immunology and Rheumatology is essential. A significant portion of the role will involve fostering trust with clients, with key performance indicators including new business acquisition, talent development, and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Inspire and lead the Immunology and Rheumatology team, encouraging all stakeholders at Parexel to excel and feel proud to contribute to improving patient outcomes. Provide medical and scientific guidance to the proposal team, engage in bid meetings, and establish relationships with senior medical leaders from client organizations. Oversee project delivery in Immunology and Rheumatology, proactively identifying and addressing potential risks to timelines and quality, and participating in escalation discussions as a senior leader. Cultivate and enhance a robust network within the Immunology and Rheumatology community, including academia, patient advocacy groups, and industry stakeholders. Collaborate with subject matter experts to advise clients and pharmaceutical companies on innovative drug development strategies. Identify and engage relevant clients in partnership with the business development team to customize and present Parexel's delivery solutions. Stay informed on advancements in Immunology and Rheumatology to integrate these developments into Parexel's service offerings. Work closely with senior leaders across Parexel in sales, project management, clinical operations, data science, statistics, and regulatory affairs to create comprehensive solutions that meet the needs of patients and clients.

Required Skills, Experience, and Qualifications

A strong sense of urgency and commitment to Parexel's mission of delivering optimal solutions for patients. Expertise in Immunology and Rheumatology, including a solid understanding of the latest medical advancements and a proven track record of contributions in this field. A medical degree is preferred, along with board certification or senior academic credentials in Immunology and Rheumatology. A blend of executive presence, humility, and the ability to inspire trust among clients and stakeholders, while playing a key role in business development. Leadership capabilities to mentor and motivate a global team of medical professionals, fostering one of the leading teams in the CRO sector. Established recognition and a strong network within the academic and industry communities, as well as patient advocacy groups in Immunology and Rheumatology. Relevant industry experience in CRO or pharmaceutical settings; leadership experience in clinical institutions or health administration may be considered. A strategic vision for Immunology and Rheumatology, with the ability to navigate the complexities of drug development, data science advancements, market opportunities, and regulatory frameworks. Strong corporate leadership skills, with the ability to support corporate initiatives and collaborate with other franchise leaders in developing a comprehensive GMS strategy. Business acumen to understand the financial models of a CRO. Familiarity with early-phase therapeutic areas is desirable. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required by business needs.
