Job Title: Bartender

Join the St. James's Hotel and Club team as a skilled Bartender and be part of a dynamic and passionate group of individuals who take pride in delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Greet guests and take beverage orders from restaurant servers or directly from guests.
  • Mix drinks, cocktails, and other bar beverages as ordered and in compliance with hotel standards.
  • Be responsive and helpful with regard to off-menu items, such as classic cocktails, and expand personal knowledge in this area.
  • Wash glassware and utensils as required and ensure items are correctly organized at all times.
  • Check identification of guests to verify age requirements for the purchase of alcohol.
  • Keep track of wines, beers, liquors, and other supplies.
  • Follow correct bar operating procedures, including arriving on duty in accordance with the roster and employee handbook, managing time and productivity, and following instructions from senior staff.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and service at all times in the restaurant and kitchen.
  • Actively strive to ensure all guests have an excellent dining experience.
  • Respect and support fellow colleagues.
  • Demonstrate and maintain high levels of customer service.
  • Ensure hotel rules are adhered to at all times.
  • Report any maintenance faults to the relevant department following company procedures.
  • Be fully conversant with and comply with the rules of the Health & Safety Policy.
  • Attend Fire and Health & Safety Training as specified by management.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Stock and financial accuracy and resolution skills.
  • Motivational and a passion for developing others.
  • Computer and POS proficiency.
  • Ability to maintain high standards when working under pressure.
