About the Role

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a highly skilled ICT Senior Network Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our ICT Networks Team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the health board's complex ICT infrastructure, ensuring the security and reliability of our network services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support Cisco ASA firewalls and Firepower services to ensure the security of our operational ICT environment.
  • Monitor the network infrastructure on a day-to-day basis, identifying and addressing errors, breaches, and alerts in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the ICT Network Services Team Leader to manage and maintain networking and security systems, including testing, installation, commissioning, and replacement.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve network performance, security, and reliability.
  • Provide excellent communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written, to interact with staff, customers, and suppliers at all levels.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of data networking and associated infrastructure support systems for large corporate environments.
  • Experience using Cisco IOS at Enterprise level, Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA, Cisco ISE, and Cisco SDA.
  • On-site/field engineering experience and extensive previous experience of technical ICT Networks Design, Implementation, and Support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, verbal and written, and reporting skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet travel requirements of the role.
