Job Opportunity: Financial Reporting Advisory Board Member

HM Treasury invites applications for an independent member to join the Financial Reporting Advisory Board (FRAB). As a key decision-making body, FRAB provides advice to HM Treasury and Parliament on financial reporting policy in the public sector.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of financial reporting practices and principles, influencing the direction of financial reporting policy in the public sector. You will work with a team of experts to provide advice on key issues, including climate-related finance disclosures and the introduction of new IFRS standards.

We are seeking applications from individuals with experience working at a senior level in the finance profession or academia, specializing in finance. As a FRAB member, you will be required to contribute to Board discussions, provide expert advice, and adhere to the FRAB Membership Code of Conduct.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to Board discussions and decision-making on financial reporting practice and principles
  • Draw on your knowledge and expertise to provide effective advice
  • Adhere to the FRAB Membership Code of Conduct and declare any personal conflicts of interest

Requirements:

  • Evidence of relevant accounting or public financial management experience at a senior level
  • Evidence of providing effective leadership in an advisory or senior management role
  • Ability to challenge constructively and influence decision-making at a senior level
  • Qualification as a chartered accountant (CCAB or equivalent) with strong IFRS knowledge and application
