Job Title: Bar and Catering Supervisor

Folkestone Rugby Football Club (FRFC) is a thriving community sports club seeking an experienced Bar and Catering Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the clubhouse and premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the bar and catering team to ensure excellent customer service and high-quality food and beverage offerings.
  • Develop and implement effective stock control and management systems to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
  • Coordinate venue bookings and club calendar management to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Work with the management team to identify and develop value-added products, new revenue streams, and services to enhance the club's long-term profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements for the sale of alcohol and food hygiene standards.
  • Recruit, manage, supervise, and motivate casual bar & catering staff to improve service standards and training personnel as required.
  • Work to an agreed budget across the bar and catering areas with appropriate controls in place to ensure expenditure and profit is in line with forecasted margins.
  • Reconcile weekly cash and PDQ monies, bank, and prepare floats in accordance with the financial procedures laid down by the Treasurer and provide weekly reporting on financial matters.
  • Ensure all relevant health and safety rules and regulations are complied with.

Requirements:

  • 1 year of experience in a hospitality role, preferably in a pub, bar, or catering facility with food production.
  • Excellent communication and people skills with a confident and outgoing personality and an ability to interact with people at all levels.
  • Good numeracy skills and proficiency in using Bar POS systems and PDQ machines.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, with a positive attitude and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
  • Possession of a valid driving license and own means of transport.
  • Ability to lead and train staff with a positive 'can do' attitude.
  • Preferably hold an existing DPS license; if not, a training course will be organized.
  • Ideally hold a food hygiene certificate or similar qualification (training can be provided).
  • Eligibility to work full-time in the UK.
