Electronics Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Engineer to join our Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team at Raytheon UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and developing digital GPS anti-jam systems for the military market.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop electronic systems, including schematic generation, PCB design, and component selection.
  • Work alongside system engineers to develop architectures for electronic subsystems.
  • Develop requirements to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with embedded software engineers and mechanical engineers to integrate designs into products.
  • Generate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews.
Requirements:
  • Experience with embedded digital electronics and microprocessor systems.
  • Experience working with ADC/DAC, Memory technologies.
  • Experience working with FPGAs and SoC technologies.
  • Experience taking prototypes and turning them into production hardware.
  • Experience designing PCBs in conformance with defence engineering standards/airborne standards.
  • Experience in designing for manufacture.
  • Able to present technical information clearly and concisely to others.
  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • An openness to learn and try new techniques.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Capable of analysing and reporting on technical data.
  • Eligible or holder of current SC security clearance.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working with the Xilinx chip family.
  • Familiarity with the application of a systems engineering approach across the design and development life cycle.
  • Experience using the Mentor Xpedition PCB design tool and SPICE.
  • Experience creating DO254 compliant electronic systems.
  • APNT systems domain knowledge and/or experience in a similar field.
