We are seeking a highly skilled Programme Manager to support Professor Adrian Hill's malaria vaccine research and development group at the University of Oxford. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the world-class research carried out by the Hill Group.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake the financial management of the Hill group portfolio of pre-clinical and translational grant funding, including approving requisitions and financial reporting.
- Carry out the strategic management of the EU Project, including management of project timelines, deliverables, and budgets.
- Report on project progress, facilitate agreements with consortium members, arrange meetings, and collate scientific reports.
- Liaise with Professor Hill and the Departmental Grants and Finance teams in the preparation of funding applications and ensure all requirements are met by Departmental, University, and funder deadlines.
- Liaise with external collaborators and funders, including managing relationships, coordinating conference calls and meetings, and minute-taking.
- Collaborate with the HR Team to recruit staff, prepare job descriptions, adverts, and recruitment order forms, and select and occasionally lead interview panels to select suitable candidates.
- Hold a degree in a relevant research subject.
- Demonstrate sufficient experience in managing and coordinating complex scientific projects successfully.
- Support the management of financial and operational resources.
- Demonstrate leadership of large and complex projects, including multiple stakeholders, budgets exceeding £1m, long time-frames, and regulatory complexity.
- Proven relevant project management experience, skills, and knowledge, ideally related to vaccine or biomedical/translational research.
- Critical thinking skills, with good problem-solving, an eye for detail, and an ability to work to high standards consistently.
