Senior Social Worker

About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Senior Social Worker to join our Response Team within the Front Door of South Gloucestershire Council's Children's Social Care and Preventative Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assessing and managing risk where there is possible or actual significant harm to children, ensuring they are kept safe and protected from abuse.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake statutory assessments of cases meeting the threshold for social care intervention, including child protection investigations.
- Work in partnership with families to equip them with the skills they need to ensure young people live in happy, healthy, and safe homes.
- Develop and implement high-quality, child-centred practices to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
- Collaborate with colleagues to explore new and better ways of delivering services, using creativity and innovation to drive improvement.
What We Need From You
- A qualified social worker with relevant registration to practice and a good understanding of asset and strengths-based approaches to social work.
- Experience of assessing and managing risk for vulnerable children and families.
- Able to demonstrate a detailed understanding of successful strategies to improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
- A problem solver, confident about making important decisions, underpinned by a genuine passion to work collaboratively with children, young people, and families to meet their goals and aspirations.
Requirements
- Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
- Current driving licence and access to a car for travel to various locations within the Authority.
