Position Overview
As a pivotal member of the Technical Accounting team, the Financial Reporting Manager will oversee the evaluation of appropriate accounting practices and budgetary considerations for new initiatives and intricate transactions. This role involves the preparation of comprehensive reports and accounting documentation that cater to personnel with diverse levels of financial expertise, playing a crucial part in the formulation of the Agency's annual financial statements.
Key Responsibilities
The Financial Reporting Manager will report directly to the Senior Technical Accounting Manager. In addition to the primary responsibilities, the technical accounting team is committed to delivering exceptional technical accounting guidance within the Finance department and across the broader organization. The role requires adaptability and collaboration with various teams and departments.
Furthermore, there will be opportunities to engage in significant projects, including the support of the development and execution of new financial software systems and processes.
This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the future of a rapidly expanding national organization with a genuine social mission. Collaborating with key stakeholders and a professional Finance team, you will ensure the effective and consistent resolution of technical accounting inquiries from across the Agency.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be adept at managing multiple priorities simultaneously and will consistently seek avenues for improvement and innovation. As a seasoned finance professional, you will understand the importance of teamwork in a productive, collaborative, and inclusive environment.
You will be comfortable assisting the Senior Technical Accounting Manager and the Assistant Director of Financial Reporting with complex accounting challenges.
Possessing robust technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS, you will demonstrate excellent report writing capabilities, tailoring your communication to audiences with varying levels of financial understanding.
Working towards a mission as ambitious as ours can be challenging. You will exhibit resilience and confidence in managing senior-level stakeholders, ensuring discussions are informed by a solid grasp of the commercial and operational implications of our Finance team's activities. As an experienced finance professional, you will be skilled in managing colleagues and will demonstrate your ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
You will hold a recognized professional accounting qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, or CIMA.
