About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Corporate Tax Accountant to join our growing Tax team as part of our Finance function. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering SSE's strategy, including its ambitious Net Zero Acceleration Programme.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist with corporate tax compliance for the SSE Group, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  2. Provide corporate tax accounting and reporting services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Advise the wider Finance Teams and business on tax-related issues, providing expert guidance and support.
  4. Assist in the implementation of tax technology solutions and process improvement to streamline and enhance tax compliance.
  5. Support on a range of tax advisory projects and M&A transactions, leveraging your expertise to drive business growth.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  1. A Chartered Tax Advisor qualification or an accounting qualification (CA/ACCA).
  2. Extensive professional experience in a leading accounting firm and/or in-house tax department, primarily on direct taxes.
  3. Experience of using AlphaTax or OneSource for corporate tax compliance and accounting.
