We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Teaching Assistant to serve as a Worry Buster in a local primary educational institution. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in aiding students by alleviating their concerns, mitigating behavioral challenges, and fostering a secure and encouraging learning atmosphere. This primary school adopts a comprehensive educational philosophy, having established the 'Worry Busters' initiative aimed at supporting the de-escalation and prevention of challenging or hazardous behaviors among students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer individualized and small group assistance to students facing anxiety or behavioral difficulties.
  • Apply techniques to de-escalate challenging situations and avert risky behaviors.
  • Cultivate a tranquil and supportive environment where students feel comfortable voicing their worries.
  • Collaborate closely with educators, senior management, and other personnel to identify students requiring assistance.
  • Design and implement engaging activities to aid students in effectively managing their worries and emotions.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in working with children within an educational or supportive context.
  • Strong grasp of behavior management and de-escalation strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and a sincere commitment to helping children navigate their worries and achieve success.

All compensation rates mentioned will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role in the future.

We provide FREE online safeguarding and Prevent Duty training to all our staff. All candidates must undertake or have completed a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
