Position: Cover Supervisor in a Secondary Educational Institution

We are in search of a committed Cover Supervisor to assist within a Secondary School, focusing on Key Stage 3 and 4.

This role is perfect for individuals seeking to enhance their classroom experience or build upon previous support roles in education.


As a Cover Supervisor, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Overseeing students and managing classroom conduct to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
  • Implementing pre-prepared lesson plans during the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a seamless educational experience.
  • Offering assistance to individual students or small groups requiring additional support with their academic work.
  • Collaborating with teaching staff and school leadership to uphold high educational standards, student welfare, and safeguarding policies.
  • Serving as a positive role model for students, encouraging good behaviour and a passion for learning.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • Prior experience working with children in an educational context.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Flexibility and resilience to manage diverse classroom situations and challenges.
  • A genuine passion for education and a dedication to helping every student achieve their full potential.
  • A degree is not mandatory but would be advantageous.
