**Role Summary**
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety and Assurance Director to join our Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in improving health & safety, engineering compliance, and competence and training standards within the CMO and the Supply Chain.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Lead a high performing team with a focus on improving health & safety, engineering compliance, and competence and training standards within the CMO and the Supply Chain
* Develop, implement, and review industry leading policies and working procedures to enable safe and productive delivery of work in accordance with client requirements
* Act as the business lead for all health and safety matters across Trinity identifying and responding to current legal and best practice requirements whilst incorporating specific Client requirements
* Ensure and monitor compliance with Key HSE legislation (eg CDM, Temporary Works, HSWA)
* Set the strategic direction for effective health and safety management and appropriate workplace wellbeing programmes for Trinity employees (including mental health first aid)
* Work proactively with the Senior Leadership Team, the Client, and other key stakeholders to maintain a programme of continuous improvement in the management of health, safety and wellbeing
* Effectively coordinate the Safety & Assurance Management team to ensure compliance requirements are being controlled, documented and maintained in accordance with regulations and guidelines
* Manage effective reporting and communications on HSEQ issues both internally and externally
* Provide direct support and counsel to the SLT on HSEQ matters ensuring that works are conducted in accordance with the JV Safety Principles
**Knowledge & Experience:**
* Extensive experience within the Gas Distribution environment
* Understanding of the Cadent operating systems and management procedures (eg SCO)
* Experienced in managing/ coaching operational site teams
* Experienced in conducting audits with internal/external stakeholders within a formal risk-based framework
* In depth knowledge of UK HS&E Legislation
**Essential Qualifications:**
* NEBOSH national diploma level 6 or equivalent degree
* NRSWA
* EUSR Safety Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Gas
* CDM
* IOSH
* Associate IEMA
* Audit related qualification
* SCO
