About the Role:

We are collaborating with a reputable transport planning team that operates across multiple locations to identify a Transport Planning Specialist with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Development Planning.


Your Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for producing your own Travel Plans, Transport Assessments, Access Appraisals, and Junction Models for a diverse range of clients in sectors including Residential, Commercial, Sports & Leisure, among others.


Key Duties Include:

  • Leading and managing small to medium-sized projects, ensuring effective budget and time management while delegating tasks as necessary with guidance from senior colleagues.
  • Drafting and occasionally reviewing Transport Assessments/Statements, Technical Notes, Travel Plans, and Access Appraisals.
  • Possessing a solid understanding of modelling packages and methodologies for calculating trip generation and distributions.
  • Completing and reviewing planning drawing requirements, such as visibility splays, vehicle tracking diagrams, and access designs.
  • Conducting independent site visits and providing professional insights to inform early-stage project development.
  • Participating in project team, client, and Local Highway Authority meetings.
  • Assisting in the preparation of materials for and attending Public Consultations.
  • Building strong working relationships with architects, planners, and local highways officers.
  • Preparing fee proposals for small to medium projects and contributing to larger site proposals as needed.


Candidate Requirements:
To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in transport planning, with a focus on pursuing membership in a professional organization.
  • A working knowledge of relevant design guidelines and an understanding of local planning policies.
  • Experience with computer-based systems, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, TRICs, and other modelling software.
