About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Planning Specialist to join our team at Aldwych Consulting in Fareham. As a key member of our multidisciplinary consultancy, you will play a crucial role in supporting planning applications for new developments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project manage small and medium development planning projects, working closely with other consultancies in multi-discipline teams.
  • Prepare fee proposals for new projects and manage budgets effectively.
  • Pursue business development opportunities and build strong relationships with clients.
  • Support negotiations with Highway Authorities and attend meetings as required.
  • Utilize Junctions 10 and LinSig software to build, run, and understand project outputs.
  • Apply knowledge of highway design in MfS, DMRB, LTN1/20, and the requirements of Active Travel England and Healthy Streets.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in all technical aspects of a transport planner role.
  • Project management experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong financial management skills, including preparation of fee proposals.
  • Excellent client-facing skills and ability to foster positive relationships.
  • Proficiency in negotiating with clients, project teams, and highway officers.
  • Good report writing and presentation skills.
  • Mentoring of junior staff in training and development.
