We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Accountant to join our client's Finance Team in Swindon. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for improving, maintaining, and updating the Planning and Finance systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement robust financial planning systems to support business growth and decision-making.
  • Design and maintain effective reporting strategies, including creating, enhancing, and analyzing reports to inform business decisions.
  • Utilize management information systems and other management reporting tools to provide insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Operate within the policy framework set by the CEO to ensure compliance and best practices.
  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and provide financial analysis and insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes and provide necessary information and support.
  • Support the submission of the Accounts Return and Budget Finance Returns to the ESFA.
  • Update and maintain accounting software to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Monitor changes from the ESFA, local councils, and other sources to ensure compliance and adaptability.
  • Analyze costs and operational changes to inform business decisions and optimize financial performance.
Requirements:
  • Finance qualifications (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in a specialist Systems Accountant role, with a strong understanding of Planning Systems (IMP ideal).
  • Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyze and present complex data.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
