Job Overview

The Engineering Department at the Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking an Engineering Laboratory Support Specialist to enhance its team.

In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse faculty group in Optical and Electrical Engineering, providing vital technical assistance in several key areas:

  • Oversight and management of Optical Engineering facilities
  • Upkeep and operation of Electrical and Electronics Engineering laboratories
  • Support for faculty in leveraging technology for educational and administrative tasks

Required Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma, relevant certifications, or practical experience demonstrating proficiency in the operation and maintenance of electronic equipment, along with a solid understanding of Microsoft Office applications.

Additional Skills

We are looking for individuals with strong communication abilities, organizational skills for managing extensive databases or inventory, and hands-on experience with optoelectronic components, semiconductor fabrication tools, or academic laboratory equipment.
