Position Overview
The role of the Construction and Commissioning Project Manager (CCPM) is to oversee and synchronize the processes and activities associated with construction and commissioning within the project framework. This position is primarily based offshore, facilitating the effective execution of site operations and the overall management of the site, which is directed by the site manager.
Note: This is a hybrid position requiring onsite presence (25-50%) along with remote work from the local office or home. Please be advised that visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and organize the Kick-Off meeting for the Construction and Commissioning Team.
- Develop the initial plan for storage location, identification, and preservation.
- Define construction responsibilities in alignment with the tendered budget and assigned roles.
- Assess the project scope, budget, and identify risks and opportunities.
- Coordinate the transition from the tendering phase to construction, reviewing the scope, schedule, and budget while considering risks and opportunities.
- Facilitate the review and approval of the constructability strategy during the Notice to Proceed and Site Mobilization phases.
- Collaborate with the Site Manager to initiate site activities, ensuring a comprehensive site execution plan is established, including procurement strategies and financial management.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including labor laws, permits, and specific HSE training requirements.
- Prepare and manage the initial site possession and develop plans for both temporary and permanent site infrastructure.
- Regularly monitor and report on construction execution, costs, and manpower forecasts, implementing mitigation plans as necessary.
- Participate in monthly project reviews, presenting project status and progress to the management team, while addressing budget and schedule concerns.
- Ensure timely and legal appointment of required resources, maintaining effective communication with subcontractors.
- Manage and coordinate Non-Budgeted Costs (NBC) for accurate cost reporting.
- Guarantee that all construction-related tasks are executed in accordance with contractual obligations.
- Provide accurate and timely information to the Project Director and Construction management in collaboration with the Site Manager.
- Ensure adherence to HVDC construction and commissioning processes, instructions, and guidelines.
- Conduct lessons learned sessions following project handover to the Construction and Commissioning, Site Integration Management, and Engineering teams.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering with relevant experience.
- Proven experience in construction and commissioning.
- Ability to perform under pressure and take initiative.
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in both spoken and written English is essential.
