Overview

The role of Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator is centered around fostering connections with individuals and communities. This position is essential for encouraging participation and inclusivity at National Trust locations. By collaborating with volunteers and local groups, you will play a crucial role in advancing the Trust's mission of preserving and nurturing spaces where both people and nature can flourish.

Hours: 1010 hours annually. This position operates on a flexible hours system, meaning your monthly working hours may vary, but your compensation will be distributed in 12 equal payments throughout the year.

This position may require overseeing volunteers and entails working as a Duty Manager on a rotational basis, including some weekends, public holidays, and occasional evenings.

Compensation: £24843 FTE

Employment Type: Permanent

Interviews will be conducted as part of the selection process.



Work Environment

You will report to the Visitor Operations and Experience Manager, collaborating with a team of 38 staff members and over 200 volunteers.

The site attracts a significant number of visitors annually, showcasing a Baroque hall, art galleries, and beautifully curated gardens. The property hosts various exhibitions and events, making it an exciting time to join the team as we enhance the visitor experience.



Key Responsibilities

As the Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Building and nurturing relationships with the local community to promote engagement.
  • Facilitating established community-driven events and generating innovative ideas for new activities.
  • Leading the organization of portfolio-wide briefings, updating volunteers and staff members.
  • Developing collaborative approaches to deepen connections with diverse audiences.
  • Enhancing the skills of team members to effectively engage with a variety of individuals.
