About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer to join our team at Amey Consulting. As a Senior Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality engineering solutions for our clients in the transportation sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of engineers to develop technically sound engineering solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.
  • Prepare and check designs, calculations, drawings, and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant technical standards and client requirements.
  • Oversee the actions of junior engineers and take responsibility for their work.
  • Manage project budgets and costs to ensure commercial success.
  • Liaise with clients and suppliers at a senior level, attending progress meetings and responding to queries.
  • Contribute to the preparation of bids and the general work-winning function.
  • Drive effective health and safety practices within the team.
Requirements
  • Developed experience and expertise in the relevant technical field, preferably gained in an engineering role or equivalent.
  • Able to produce technically sound engineering solutions, working unsupervised and supervising junior engineers.
  • Experienced in undertaking project-related tasks associated with health, safety, and welfare, such as Amey's Integrated Management System and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
  • Capable of acting as the main engineering contact for a project, as required.
  • Good working knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools.
  • Demonstrates good commercial awareness.
  • Has a good understanding of CDM and risk assessment, with experience in managing and communicating hazards and risks on projects.
  • Successful completion of the professional review or end-point assessment, resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional license.
