Position Overview

Director of Quality Assurance – Financial Technology / Investment Sector

Oliver Bernard is collaborating with a prominent Financial Technology / Investment organization seeking a Director of Quality Assurance to spearhead the enhancement and evolution of Quality processes throughout the organization.

The successful candidate will oversee three Testing teams, with two located domestically and one internationally, necessitating prior experience in managing cross-border operations. These teams are highly technical, and you will lead a diverse group of Mid-Level, Senior, and Lead Quality Assurance professionals (approximately 10-15 in total), while partnering with development teams to foster improved Automation and Quality in an Agile and transformative environment.

This position is primarily strategic, focusing on personnel management, guiding the testing strategy, and championing best practices in testing. However, a solid foundation in hands-on engineering is essential, as you will need to implement Test Automation practices from the ground up and facilitate the scaling of these processes across technical teams.

To qualify, candidates should possess a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in a QA managerial role, along with the following qualifications:

  1. Hands-on experience in Java and JavaScript-driven Automation environments
  2. Familiarity with frameworks such as Selenium and Cucumber, as well as experience in CI, API, and Performance Testing
  3. Ability to define and implement streamlined Agile testing processes to transform a QA department
  4. Collaboration with testing and development teams to establish robust automation from the ground up, while promoting Quality across the broader technical department
  5. Experience managing multiple teams across different geographical regions
  6. Proven track record in developing a test strategy and roadmap, along with reporting processes
