We are currently looking for a Procurement Category Specialist to manage our sourcing initiatives. This pivotal role will drive the transformation of CDE's supply chain, ensuring the effective delivery of our solutions across multiple sectors, including Mining, Construction & Demolition Waste Recycling, Environmental, Industrial Sands, and Sands & Aggregates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Formulate and execute category strategies while managing supplier partnerships to align procurement processes with the company's objectives regarding cost, quality, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that sourced materials and services effectively meet business requirements.
  • Work closely with Engineering to create standardized product structures that simplify product allocation across the supply chain.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks, monitoring global conditions that may affect supply chain stability.
  • Proactively seek new capacities and technologies in the local and regional markets.
  • Oversee supplier relationships, focusing on cost reduction and product improvement while ensuring compliance with production and delivery requirements.
  • Develop and implement strategies for sourcing, supplier management, negotiation, and relationship building.
  • Ensure procurement practices adhere to regulatory compliance and address any identified gaps.
  • Manage supplier selection and validation processes, establishing effective pricing structures with key suppliers.
  • Perform in-depth cost analysis of components and manufacturing processes to ensure optimal quality at the lowest cost.
  • Engage in negotiations with external suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Resolve disputes and develop mutually beneficial solutions while fostering positive relationships.
  • Identify supply chain risks and formulate mitigation strategies, ensuring supplier compliance with regulations and ethical standards.
  • Negotiate contracts to optimize total ownership value, including pricing, terms, and lead times.
  • Collaborate across various organizational levels and regions to achieve sourcing objectives.
  • Act as the Procurement liaison for new product launches, managing sourcing activities to meet project goals.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A Bachelor's or Graduate's Degree in engineering, supply chain management, or business, or equivalent experience.
  • Proven negotiation, problem-solving, and leadership abilities.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Proficient in supplier selection and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with RFP/RFI processes.
  • A mindset focused on continuous improvement.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage a diverse pipeline.
  • Excellent critical thinking and communication skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years of procurement experience in the engineering or materials handling sector.

Desirable

  • Experience in the engineering or materials handling industry.
  • Knowledge of IFS systems.
  • APICS Certification or CIPS qualification.
