Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical Oncologist to join the team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership to the Centre for Interdisciplinary Cancer Studies, enhancing cancer research activity across data sciences, biology, genomics, health sciences, and population health.

Main Duties

We are seeking a Consultant Oncologist with expertise in cancer data and its potential use in service improvement. A track record of working well in a multi-disciplinary team and forming good relationships with senior clinicians is essential.

Person Specification
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Entry on GMC Specialist Register or eligible for entry within six months of receipt of Certificate of Completion of training (CCT)
  • Evidence of completion of specialist training or equivalent
  • A higher degree with a MD or PhD
  • MRCP/FRCR or equivalent
  • Inclusion on GMC Specialist Register for oncology or within 6 months of attainment at the time of interview
  • MD or PhD
  • Evidence of Management training
Desirable Qualifications
  • Formal training in Data Science or experience in collaborative work in Data Science/AI/Machine learning
