Job Title: Senior Mechanical Project Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Project Design Engineer to join our team at Anthro JV. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems for the HS2 Old Oak Common project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a small engineering team to deliver the design, installation, and commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Undertake mechanical and public health design reviews in line with current project applicable HS2, NR, BS, EN, and ISO standards.
  • Manage 3rd party design consultants to deliver design deliverables required for the project.
  • Liaise with main contractor designers to review comments and agree an efficient way forward.
  • Ensure design risk assessment is compliant with installation parameters.
  • Provide engineered solutions to key project problems to satisfy client expectations, project restrictions, and budget considerations.
  • Direct liaison with CAD/BIM team to ensure correct drawing modeling to BIM or other standards.
  • Attend and participate in interdisciplinary design reviews and checks (IDR/IDC).
  • Support and carry out commissioning of mechanical systems.
  • Carry out site surveys/visits for project purposes.
  • Direct liaison with installation teams to ensure design suitability, works methodology, and solve key installation issues/constructability.
  • Working with the commercial department to track technical or design change and variances.
  • Working with the planning department to plan design, installation, and T&C works.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering.
  • Engineering Council Registration as Incorporated Engineer.
  • Registered member of IMechE, IET, CIBSE, or other recognized Engineering Council Institutions.
  • SMSTS, SSSTS, or IOSH Managing Safety.
  • CSCS Card – AQP or PQP min.
Desirable:
  • Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Engineering Council Registration as Chartered Engineer.
  • Project management qualification, APM, PRINCE 2, or equivalent.
  • Formal HSE training, NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
  • DSEAR & ATEX formal training.
