About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our team at Sewell Wallis. As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting our accounting functions and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Reconcile and process prepayments, accruals, and standard charges to ensure accurate financial records.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation to identify and resolve any discrepancies.
- Prepare budgets and forecasts to help drive business growth and decision-making.
- Process monthly accounts for overhead costs and ensure timely submission.
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and assist with statutory accounts and tax packs.
- Process journals and reconcile fixed asset control to maintain accurate financial records.
- Manage company credit cards and ensure compliance with financial policies.
Requirements
- Willingness to study towards ACCA/CIMA or currently studying/qualified AAT.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills, including V-lookups and pivot tables.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
