Key Responsibilities:- **Maintain and Manage Quality Systems:** Responsible for the maintenance and management of the company's quality, health & safety, and environmental systems.
- **Review and Implement Procedures:** Reviewing existing procedures to ensure they reflect current Company practice and that they meet ISO (or other relevant standards body), safety, legal, and other related standards, and implementing authorised changes and improvements as necessary.
- **Monitor and Audit Staff:** Continually monitoring and auditing staff observation of rules, compliance with procedures, and quality-related output, implementing authorised colleague training and development as necessary.
- **Internal Audits:** Maintaining a schedule of internal audits, undertaking these in line with the respective standards.
- **Quality Investigations:** Carrying out quality investigations when required.
- **Supplier Audits:** Undertaking supplier audits and collaborating with suppliers to ensure the flow-down of company and customer quality requirements and that these are continually achieved.
- **Quality Control:** Monitoring and analysing quality control activity, collating performance data, and preparing reports.
- **Equipment Maintenance:** Managing the inspection, maintenance, and repair of machinery, tools, ladders, and lifting equipment, ensuring PUWER compliance.
- **COSHH Compliance:** Ensuring COSHH compliance, that all chemicals are properly labelled and accurately recorded.
- **Fire Safety:** Undertaking fire drills and tests and the management and maintenance of all fire-related equipment.
- **Inductions and Training:** Carrying out health and safety and quality inductions for new starters when required and authorised refresher training for colleagues as necessary.
- **Environmental Impact:** Monitoring company waste and environmental impact and implementing strategies to minimise.
- **Compliance and Legislation:** Maintaining and enhancing own knowledge and tracking updates and changes to ensure Company compliance with all aspects of applicable quality, health and safety, and environmental legislation and standards, implementing authorised improvements as necessary.
- **Support to Commercial Teams:** Supporting commercial and project delivery teams by writing high-quality documents in response to requests for information arising from tenders and contracts to demonstrate compliance.
- **Quality, Health and Safety, and Environmental Management Plans:** Producing contract/tender specific quality, health and safety, and environmental management plans as necessary.
- **Product Safety Management:** Advising on product safety management, including identification of legislative and regulatory requirements, safety reviews (as non-technical lead), maintenance of hazard logs, and safety cases.
- **Promoting a Culture of Quality:** Promoting a culture of quality and continual improvement.
- **Identifying Areas for Improvement:** Identifying weaknesses in existing systems and processes and proposing improved solutions.
- **Prioritising Areas for Improvement:** Prioritising areas for improvement which will have the greatest impact on the business.
- **Initiative and Innovation:** Taking initiative, being creative, and developing new ideas to help move the business forward.
- **Risk Assessments and Method Statements:** Preparing and maintaining risk assessments and method statements (RAMS).
- **Lean Manufacturing:** Assisting with the expansion of Lean Manufacturing throughout the factory, particularly 5S.
- **Representing the Business:** Representing the business and attending meetings with customers as required.
- **Reporting to the Board:** Advising the Board and providing reports as required.
