Job Introduction
At Turning Point, our mission is to deliver exceptional, individualized support in a timely manner, positively impacting the lives of those we serve and the communities we are part of.

We are actively seeking dedicated support workers for our supported living services.

Work Environment
You will be stationed at one of our supported living facilities, catering to a small group of residents. The individuals in our care receive assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and engage in a variety of community-oriented activities.

Examples of activities include swimming, arts and crafts, sailing, hydrotherapy, nature walks, horse riding, and participating in local community events.

Shift Patterns
Your work schedule will include a variety of shifts, ranging from early morning to late evening, including sleep-ins or waking nights, as well as some weekend shifts. Please be aware that hours may fluctuate.

Key Responsibilities
In this dynamic role, your daily tasks will vary. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Encouraging the independence of individuals we support
  • Assisting with a comprehensive range of daily activities, including household chores and meal preparation
  • Organizing recreational activities both at home and in the community
  • Fostering residents' life skills and personal interests
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents
  • Providing assistance with personal care needs
  • Conducting manual handling tasks as required
  • Supporting medication management
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service evaluations


The Ideal Candidate
While familiarity with learning disabilities and complex needs is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite.

Essential Qualities:
We are looking for individuals who are:

  • Passionate, caring, and enthusiastic
  • Flexible, patient, and non-judgmental
  • Able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Possessing strong communication skills
  • Capable of performing the physical demands of the role, including manual handling
  • Experienced in supporting individuals with anxiety management
