Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated SEND Early Years Class Teacher to join our team in Lambeth. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and are eager to make a positive impact in their educational journey.

Key Requirements:
  • Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent overseas teaching qualification.
  • Experience in working with SEND students in either mainstream or specialized educational environments is preferred, though Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to apply.
  • A solid understanding of the Early Years Framework is essential.
  • Effective behavior management skills, particularly in handling challenging behaviors.
  • A compassionate, patient, and understanding demeanor.
  • A flexible and diligent work ethic.
  • Strong communication abilities.
  • An up-to-date DBS check on the update service.
  • Familiarity with augmentative and alternative communication methods (such as PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, and Rapid Prompting Method) is advantageous but not mandatory.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement engaging lessons tailored to meet the individual needs outlined in each student's Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP).
  • Oversee all assessments and track the progress of students in your class.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all pupils under your supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with both teaching and support staff to achieve optimal outcomes for students.
  • Encourage student independence and promote their overall well-being.
