The ideal candidate will be positive, motivated, and capable of engaging, encouraging, and mentoring young individuals while ensuring a fun and supportive atmosphere.
Salary: £28,777 - £32,017 (including sleep allowance)
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: Full-time - 40 hours per week plus sleep-ins
Shift Pattern: 2 on 4 off

As a Youth Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Encouraging young individuals to engage in activities and take charge of their lives according to their age.
- Maintaining a warm and friendly atmosphere within the homes.
- Addressing challenging behaviors as necessary.
- Safeguarding children and young people from health and welfare risks.
- Providing support to the young individuals in the home and promoting their independence and well-being.
- Ensuring a safe environment for all young people.
- Keeping up-to-date knowledge of each individual's care plan, guidelines, reward systems, and preferred communication methods.
- Supporting challenging behaviors in a safe and compassionate manner.
- Building and sustaining positive working relationships with staff, parents, social workers, and other professionals involved in the lives of the young individuals.
Requirements:
- NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People is desirable but not mandatory.
- Experience in a residential children's home setting is preferred but not essential.
- A full driving license is mandatory as transportation of children may be required.
- Ability to work the designated shift pattern (8 am - 10 pm plus sleep-ins).
