Fashion Buying Assistant

About the Role
We are seeking an innovative and driven Assistant Buyer to join our team at boohoo. As an Assistant Buyer, you will be responsible for driving the success of boohoo across our long lead areas. This includes reviewing the critical path to ensure that department targets and deliveries are met on time and in line with the brand's strategy.
Your Responsibilities
- Manage a BAA on critical path and OPO management to ensure department targets are achieved and deliveries are on time.
- Own fit sessions and action fit comments directly to suppliers.
- Negotiate cost prices to achieve best prices and meet department BIM.
- Understand open costings, including fabric prices, consumption, and fit amend implications.
- Collate the final sign-off pack with the support of the JB/Buyer.
- Attend supplier meetings to develop and source new development, as well as review OPO and production concerns.
- Manage sample development trackers and chase in development to meet deadlines.
- Contribute to weekly trade meetings with suggestions on how to react to department trading.
- Be accountable for achieving cost price reductions of 1st time rebuys.
- Carry out weekly comp shops and support the BAA in collating the comp shop report for management.
- Contribute to department product development with an awareness of department best and worst and seasonal trends.
About You
- Previous experience working in fashion buying, either at Assistant Buyer or Buyers Admin Assistant level.
- Consistently manage your workload effectively, trusted to make actions without prompt.
- Be approachable to your whole team and external parties, always ready to help and support, acting as a role model for junior members.
- Accept feedback and be willing to adapt your personal approach to achieve better communication and increased communication with senior management.
- Be a keen learner, always pushing yourself to find out more about the business, industry, and company.
- Be super adaptable and find it easy to switch it up when the business needs.
- Delegate and share workload to the team effectively.
- Always be ahead at spotting trends and commercial wins for the business.
