Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Band 5 Nurse to join our team as a Band 6 Nurse in the Dermatology Service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will work in the Dermatology Day Treatment Unit, located on the St Mary's site, where patients are treated with Ultraviolet Phototherapy for a variety of skin conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Unit Manager in running the Unit, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care for their UVP and other treatments offered within the unit.
  • Supervise junior staff and students who attend the Unit, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Provide specialist nursing care and advice to support and facilitate high-quality nursing care to patients/clients and relatives/carers without supervision in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team in line with local and national targets.
  • Work in the Dermatology Day Centre, supporting the band 7 and ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the unit.
  • Be a clinical expert in dermatology nursing with excellent communication skills, providing direct and indirect clinical care, teaching, and research.

Requirements:

  • Experience of Dermatology Nursing and a strong understanding of a wide range of dermatology conditions and treatments.
  • Ability to be flexible and work across our sites on occasion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong clinical skills and the ability to provide high-quality nursing care to patients/clients and relatives/carers.
