Teaching Assistant - Support Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team at a vibrant school in Halifax. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in helping children reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to pupils, both in small groups and one-to-one settings, to aid their learning and personal development.
  • Assist teachers in creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work closely with the SENCO to implement individual learning plans (IEPs) and support students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Encourage positive behaviour and support social and emotional well-being.
  • Prepare learning materials and help with administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth running of the classroom.
  • Supervise students during break times and on school trips.
  • Support in the assessment and tracking of student progress.
Requirements:
  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working within a school environment, ideally supporting children with SEN.
  • A strong understanding of the national curriculum and child development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • A patient, adaptable, and positive approach to working with children.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
