Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and well-being of young learners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support Student Learning: Provide tailored support to pupils, both in small groups and one-to-one settings, to aid their learning and personal development.
  • Assist Teachers: Collaborate with teachers to create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment, ensuring that all students have the opportunity to succeed.
  • Implement Individual Learning Plans: Work closely with the SENCO to implement individual learning plans (IEPs) and support students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Encourage Positive Behaviour: Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, encouraging students to develop good social and emotional skills.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks, ensuring the smooth running of the classroom and supporting the teacher with lesson planning and preparation.
  • Supervise Students: Supervise students during break times and on school trips, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Track Student Progress: Support in the assessment and tracking of student progress, helping to identify areas of strength and weakness.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
  • Experience: Previous experience working within a school environment, ideally supporting children with SEN.
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of the national curriculum and child development.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Approach: Patient, adaptable, and positive approach to working with children.
  • Safeguarding: Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
