We are seeking an experienced Senior Audiologist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Audiologist, you will play a key role in providing high-quality audiology services to our patients, including hearing assessments, rehabilitation, and management of complex cases.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have substantial experience in audiology, with a strong background in hearing assessment, rehabilitation, and management of complex cases. You will be responsible for providing audiology cover to ENT OPD clinics, including masked air and bone conduction audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, and otoacoustic emission testing. You will also participate in the provision of a diagnostic audiology service, including performance analysis, interpretation, and reporting of routine test procedures and complex test procedures under indirect supervision.
Key Responsibilities- Provide audiology cover to ENT OPD clinics, including masked air and bone conduction audiometry, tympanometry, acoustic reflex testing, and otoacoustic emission testing.
- Participate in the provision of a diagnostic audiology service, including performance analysis, interpretation, and reporting of routine test procedures and complex test procedures under indirect supervision.
- Arrange hearing aids for ENT OPD patients as required, including initial assessment, consent, preliminary counselling, and information/test data entry into PMS.
- Participate in the adult hearing aid and aural rehabilitation service, including the direct GP referral service for patients age 18 years and over.
The ideal candidate will have a BSc or equivalent in Audiology, registration with a professional UK body, and substantial experience in health organisation. They will also have evidence of management of complex AR, excellent communication skills, and a patient-focused approach. A previous supervisory and training role is desirable.
