We are seeking a dedicated Day Shift Engineer to join our team, focusing on proactive maintenance and continuous improvement of our equipment assets.
Key Responsibilities:
The Day Shift Engineer will be responsible for:
- Executing planned maintenance and shutdown tasks across multiple sites, including servicing, repairs, and condition monitoring.
- Adhering to company health, safety, and legal compliance standards at all times.
- Overseeing external contractors during maintenance activities to ensure compliance with company procedures.
- Demonstrating proficiency in working with a diverse range of engineering assets.
- Effectively performing proactive maintenance tasks to enhance operational efficiency.
- Reporting and escalating equipment issues identified during maintenance activities.
- Identifying opportunities for improving asset reliability and engineering processes.
- Supporting improvement projects by identifying root causes and executing continuous improvement actions.
- Utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for logging and reviewing maintenance work.
- Providing training and support for the transition of basic engineering tasks to operational staff.
Qualifications:
While formal qualifications are valued, we prioritize practical experience. For specific roles governed by legislation, certain qualifications may be required.
Essential Requirements:
- Engineering qualification or apprenticeship (HNC or above preferred).
- Proven mechanical and electrical competence through training and experience.
- Strong IT skills, including experience with CMMS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management and decision-making abilities.
- Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
