Job Title: Tooling Engineer

Leonardo is seeking a skilled Tooling Engineer to join our team in Yeovil. As a key member of our Composite Blade department, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative tooling solutions to support the manufacture of advanced composite rotor blades and rotor head components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop tooling solutions for composite rotor blades and rotor head components using advanced CATIA processes.
  • Provide technical support to design, supply, and operational teams to ensure effective and efficient specification and development of components.
  • Prepare specifications, procure products or services, and interact with contractors to support departmental outputs.
  • Participate in research and development programs to introduce new products and processes.
  • Provide tooling technical support to the Production area and maintain current tooling.
  • Follow a steady improvement philosophy by reviewing methods, processes, and policies to identify and implement potential improvements.
Requirements:
  • Education to Degree, HND, or HNC in Mechanical, Material, Production, or Aeronautical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Sound knowledge of composite component tool design and/or composite component manufacture.
  • High level of working knowledge of Manufacturing Engineering functions.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • CATIA Specific Experience V5 (4000hrs plus) and SAP ECC6 knowledge advantageous.
