Exciting Opportunity for a Retirement Housing Assistant with Meal Services
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to become a part of our Jamaica Court team as a Retirement Housing Assistant. Our supportive team is committed to ensuring that individuals aged 60 and above can maintain their independence while we take care of essential services such as meal provision, maintenance, and garden care.
Key Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be tasked with a variety of responsibilities aimed at maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in communal areas, ensuring they meet the expectations of our residents and visitors. Duties will also include preparing the dining area for mealtimes, reheating pre-prepared meals, and delivering them to residents.
Occasionally, the Assistant may be required to clean vacant apartments and external pathways, as well as provide general and emergency support to residents as needed.
Furthermore, you will be expected to respond to property emergencies, taking appropriate measures when the Manager is unavailable, and providing coverage for the development office as necessary.
Work Schedule
The position entails 16 hours of work per week, specifically on weekends, from 10:30 am to 7:00 pm, including a 30-minute unpaid break.

Qualifications and Skills
While prior experience in a similar role is advantageous, it is not mandatory as training will be provided.
A genuine interest in working with older adults and the ability to respond calmly to requests for assistance are essential attributes for this role.
A REHIS Elementary Food Hygiene Qualification or an equivalent certification would be beneficial.
