Job Title: Welfare Officer

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Welfare Officer to join our team in Haringey, North London. As a key member of our team, you will provide vital support to families and schools, helping to address issues affecting school attendance.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing welfare support to families and schools, working closely with schools, parents, and other agencies to provide support as necessary. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to problem-solve, and excellent communication skills, both verbally and in written form.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide welfare support to families and schools, addressing issues affecting school attendance.
  • Work closely with schools, parents, and other agencies to provide support as necessary.
  • Complete reports for schools, requiring a high standard of communication.
  • Carry out home visits, adapting to working in different environments and meeting deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of delivering a service that enables pupils to receive their entitlement to education.
  • Ability to support families, pupils in addressing attendance matters, and enforcing relevant legislation.
  • Experience in reducing absence and increasing attendance and achievement.
  • Acquired skills to ascertain information relating to safeguarding and a child's welfare.
