Manufacturing Technician
Location: St Ives, Cambridgeshire
Salary: Starting at £29,135 with potential for increases + Benefits
Shifts: 12-hour rotating shifts (Days/Nights) with only 1 Saturday morning every 3 weeks and 4 consecutive days off every 2 out of 3 weeks.

Shift Pattern:

Our operational schedule at St. Ives includes:

2 Days on, 1 Day off, 2 Nights on, 4 Days off, 3 Days on, 1 Half-day (Saturday Morning), 1 Day off, 3 Nights on, 4 Days off.

Shifts typically run from 6 AM - 6 PM / 6 PM - 6 AM, or 6 AM - 12 PM on Saturday half-days.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Manufacturing Technician, you will collaborate with a team to produce high-quality concrete products within our dual-block plant. Your role will involve operating advanced machinery and tools, including press machinery, hand tools, shot blast equipment, and mobile plant such as Forklift trucks for stock movement.

You will gain insights into manufacturing techniques, processes, safety protocols, quality control, waste management, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This role provides a pathway for skill development and pay progression over time.

Effective communication is essential, as you will need to relay accurate information during handovers and coordinate with maintenance teams and supervisors.

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in a fast-paced production or manufacturing environment is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A Forklift truck license and experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Flexibility regarding shift rotations or experience with night shifts is required.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Qualifications such as Safe to Supervise or IOSH would be advantageous but are not essential.
