We are seeking a highly skilled Category Development Manager to join our team at MKM Building Supplies. As a key member of our Category Team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and driving the growth of our renewable energy, sustainability, and energy transition categories.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute category strategies for Renewables, Sustainability, and Energy Transition, aligning with our company's overall business objectives.
- Analyse market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities within these categories.
- Engage with cross-functional teams to ensure category strategies are implemented effectively.
- Identify and source new products and technologies in the renewable energy, sustainability, and energy transition space.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to secure the best offerings for our customers.
- Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring product quality and availability.
- Support Branch Directors and their teams to effectively sell renewable and sustainable products.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement campaigns promoting the category and educating customers on sustainable building practices and energy solutions.
- Provide training and presentations for internal teams and customers to drive category awareness and sales.
- Analyse sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to measure category performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide detailed reports and insights to senior management on category performance, market conditions, and future opportunities.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in renewable energy, sustainability, and energy transition technologies.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and seminars, establishing the business as a thought leader in the space.
- Drive innovation within the category by identifying and introducing cutting-edge products and solutions to the market.
- Proven experience in category management, product management, or a similar role within the builders' merchant or construction industry, with a focus on renewable energy, sustainability, or energy transition.
- Strong knowledge of renewable energy products, sustainable building materials, and the energy transition landscape in the UK.
- Excellent communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and market trends to make informed business decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful business development plans across a wide branch network.
- Passion for sustainability and the drive to promote environmentally responsible practices within the construction industry.
