About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our team on an NHS universal crisis service in Carlisle. As a Mental Health Nurse, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to patients who are in the acute phase of their illness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent patient care and support to patients aged 18-65
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless care delivery
  • Participate in shift rotations, including day and night shifts, on a full or part-time basis
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized care plans
  • Engage in verbal de-escalation techniques and medication administration/management
  • Assist in managing admissions onto the ward, as required
  • Act as shift lead, responsible for dividing up observation duties and completing shift allocations

Requirements:

  • Qualified Mental Health Nurse with a minimum of 6 months post-qualifying experience
  • Valid NMC registration and Enhanced DBS check
  • Commitment to the NMC Code of Conduct and core values
  • Ability to build rapport with vulnerable patients and engage in different approaches as needed
