Our aim is to support your progression in this role, guided by our Practice Development Facilitator, who is available within the department to assist all team members in achieving their goals.

Essential Experience Required

A relevant level of experience in the operating theatre is crucial.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and enthusiastic, possessing extensive experience across various theatre specialties and demonstrating excellent communication skills.

We seek individuals who are proactive, well-organized, and maintain a positive attitude towards adaptability and change management. This position is tailored for someone with proficiency in scrub practices across multiple surgical specialties, including orthopaedic surgery. You will also be expected to coordinate and oversee the comprehensive operations of the theatre department, which includes troubleshooting in all areas of the peri-operative environment.

Additionally, we anticipate that candidates will serve as professional role models for our team and department.

Applications will only be accepted from those who are registered ODPs or Nurses with the UK HCPC or NMC and hold a UK-approved qualification.

Qualifications/Training & Professional Development

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with the NMC or ODP/ODA registered with the HCPC
  • A UK recognized anaesthetic qualification

Desirable

  • A recognized Teaching qualification

Experience

Essential

  • Experience at band 5 theatre practitioner with relevant clinical experience pertinent to the role.
  • Teaching and staff development.

Desirable

  • Assisting in coordinating the day-to-day running of an operating department
  • A good understanding or experience of peri-operative care of patients in day surgery department
