Audit and Risk Manager Opportunity

ASA Recruitment is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Audit and Risk Manager to join a large-scale client in the public sector on an interim basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of internal audit processes, ensuring compliance with Public Sector Internal Audit Standards and meeting organisational assurance requirements.
  • Oversee outsourced audit services, working closely with external audit partners to maintain high standards throughout the organisation.
  • Standardise risk management procedures, developing and enforcing best-practice risk management practices across all areas of the organisation.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Assurance Framework based on the lines of defence model, tailored to meet operational and governance needs.
  • Support the Audit and Risk Committees, providing assistance with reporting on audit and risk assurance matters to the respective boards.
Requirements:
  • Qualified accountant or auditor with significant internal audit and risk management experience, preferably in the public sector.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to communicate complex information effectively to non-experts.
  • Proven ability to manage complex, multifaceted projects and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a track record of building constructive relationships in a multi-disciplinary environment.
