Position Overview

Kingswell Surgery is seeking a meticulous, approachable, and proactive Pharmacy Operations Supervisor to oversee our pharmacy team for a part-time role of up to 20 hours per week. Our practice serves a diverse patient base, with a significant portion relying on our pharmacy services.

As the Pharmacy Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing all facets of the pharmacy, collaborating with the medical partners and administrative staff to effectively oversee inventory levels, ensuring sufficient stock is maintained while minimizing waste and costs. A background in pharmacy operations is essential, and candidates should ideally possess a level 2 dispensing qualification.

Ideal candidates will demonstrate strong teamwork abilities and preferably have experience in managing a team.

Key Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Operations Supervisor will be tasked with coordinating the pharmacy team and ensuring the delivery of exceptional service to our patients by:

  • ensuring compliance with the relevant service standards;
  • preparing and submitting monthly, quarterly, and annual pharmacy reports, utilizing the practice's clinical system for necessary audits;
  • developing, reviewing, and enhancing standard operating procedures and policies;
  • overseeing the daily management of a team of 2 additional pharmacy staff, including scheduling, performance management, and recruitment;
  • managing inventory levels to ensure financial viability and sustainability, regularly assessing supplier agreements and making procurement adjustments as necessary to optimize cost-effectiveness.

Our dedicated practice team comprises 3 medical partners, 1 salaried physician, 2 nursing staff, 2 healthcare assistants, 2 pharmacy professionals, and an administrative support team.

Essential

  • Proficiency in English and Mathematics at GCSE Level 3 or equivalent
  • Recognized Dispensing Qualification - Minimum level 2 NVQ

  • Experience in Management or Supervision
