We are in search of a highly skilled Senior Project Lead to oversee significant national digital initiatives aimed at modernizing and enhancing the provision of digital services throughout NHS Wales.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in orchestrating and managing project delivery within established timelines and budgetary constraints.

You will be responsible for the comprehensive leadership and administration of projects, which includes financial oversight, progress reporting, and resource allocation.

Operating under stringent deadlines, you will exhibit the capability to effectively guide project execution and achieve results that align with the directorate's strategic objectives as outlined in the organizational IMTP.

Proficiency in the Welsh language is preferred for this position; applications from both Welsh and English speakers are encouraged.

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • A degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Specialized project knowledge at a postgraduate level or equivalent experience (formal or informal Prince certification).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through education or training.

Experience

Essential

  • Extensive experience in project planning and management with a proven track record of successful delivery within time and budget constraints, specifically in a project management capacity.
  • Advanced understanding of methodologies for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects, particularly PRINCE2.
  • Solid knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation processes.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with change management, process improvement, and information management and technology challenges within the healthcare sector.
  • Experience and understanding of the procurement process, including contract negotiations, especially related to IT procurements.
