About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Social Worker to join our Fostering Service as part of our Special Guardianship and Connected Carers team. As a Social Worker in this role, you will work closely with prospective carers to assess and support them in providing stable homes for children who may be unable to remain in their current environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular visits and assessments to evaluate the carer's capacity to care for the child and manage contact.
  • Work closely with the child's social worker to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the child's needs and develop a detailed plan of support.
  • Collaborate with the team to provide a recommendation on the carer's capacity and ensure compliance with legal frameworks.
  • Provide regular supervision and support to carers, including group supervision and access to in-house and external training.

We are looking for a passionate and motivated Social Worker who can adopt a strength-based, person-centered approach to their work. You will be responsible for ensuring the welfare and assessed needs of those we support are managed in a safe and inclusive way.
