Estimator Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Estimator to join our client's team and contribute to their success in delivering high-quality construction projects across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for construction projects, focusing on the public sector.
  • Utilize estimating software such as Causeway and Bluebeam to produce detailed and reliable estimates.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Pre-Construction Teams to ensure bids are competitive, accurate, and aligned with client objectives.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of project specifications, drawings, and contracts to identify potential risks, opportunities, and cost-saving measures.
  • Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure the best value and quality for the project.
  • Identify opportunities for value engineering while maintaining quality and compliance with client specifications.
Requirements:
  • Extensive experience as an Estimator, with a significant portion spent working for a main contractor on public sector projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in using estimating software such as Causeway and Bluebeam.
  • Deep understanding of the construction industry, including the commercial, residential, education, healthcare, and heritage sectors.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to assess project risks, opportunities, and cost implications accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
