We are seeking a highly skilled and ambitious Quantity Surveyor / Employer's Agent to join our expanding hotel and leisure team at Reed Construction.

About You:

  • You will have relevant quantity surveying experience, preferably in a leisure, hotel, or retail background.
  • You have either completed your APC or are on the path to completion, demonstrating your commitment to professional development.
  • You are self-motivated, possess your own transport, and are willing to travel nationwide to customer locations, ensuring effective project delivery.
  • You have the ability to work independently and take initiative, driving projects forward with minimal supervision.
  • You are ambitious and eager to progress your QS career through to Senior QS, Principal QS, and eventually Directorship, taking on increasing levels of responsibility.

The Role:

  • As part of our team, you will work on new build and refurbishment hotel and leisure projects, managing multiple projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • You will be responsible for managing estimating and cost planning activities, applying value management techniques to optimize project outcomes.
  • Liaise with clients and design teams, monitoring progress on site and addressing any issues that may arise, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Attend site meetings, answer queries, issue variations, cost reporting, and ensure compliance with client requirements, maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Place and coordinate FF&E orders, ensuring timely delivery and installation.
  • Proactively monitor and manage cost variance and contract cash flow, making informed decisions to mitigate risks and optimize project outcomes.
  • Ensure that applications are made correctly and in a timely manner, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Ensure that Final Accounts are negotiated and agreed, resolving any discrepancies or issues that may arise.
  • Coordinate a successful and timely Practical Completion, ensuring that all stakeholders are satisfied with the project outcome.
