Building Facilities Director

Currie & Brown, a leading international physical asset management and construction consultancy, is seeking an experienced director of building surveying to join its building surveying and specialist services leadership team in Scotland.

The successful candidate will be central in leading a busy team of building surveyors, CDM advisors, quality control and PFI advisors covering all aspects of professional and project-related services across the private and public sector.

The role will involve assisting in the management of client and project teams to deliver building surveying and specialist services profitably and on time to a wide range of clients.

The successful candidate will support team leaders in generating a high standard of service delivery, achieving successful outcomes for clients, capturing and sharing knowledge across projects, enhancing the company's culture of innovation and reinforcing its reputation as a preferred service provider.

The role will cover the full spectrum of building surveying and specialist services, including:

  • Contract administration
  • Building surveys
  • Project management
  • Team leadership and development
  • Client relationship management

The ideal candidate will have a BSc in building surveying or equivalent, a minimum of 15 years' technical delivery experience gained within a construction consultancy, and excellent IT skills, including AutoCAD, NBS, MS Project, Outlook, Word, Excel, and other bespoke systems.

The candidate will also have knowledge of the local and national marketplace, good technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills, and a team player with a 'can do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
